Sophia's First Day of School (Preschool, that is)

So today came with a tinge of sadness as my little baby girl was old enough to start school. The funniest part is that she is so upset that she didn't get to go on the stoolbus! I honestly think that is what she was most excited for!

Last night at orientation she came over to me from across the room and said, "Mommy, I want you to go...leave me here by myself". Not a question - a very assertive statement. Then today, for the first few minutes she wanted me to stay with her. I think that she forgot almost instantly when she walked into the classroom.

Overall, her day was amazing! Her teacher, Miss Heather (or Miss Feather according to Sophia) said she did fabulous! She came home with a painting, a coloring and a ladybug project...and her first book order!

We got to make special treats for the first day of school...fruity rice krispie treats and confetti frosted sugar cookies. Sophia helped me with every step :) And yes, in case you are wondering, these are special because this Mommy sadly doesn't make treats with her kiddo's very often...we had a wonderful time!
